bevhowardJul 27, 05:29 PMThe iPod touch bluetooth only works for headphones. There's no profile for anything else...
The blurb for the iTouch iOS4 upgrade blurb (http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/ios4-software-update.html) indicates that bluetooth functionality has been extended to include keyboards. Unfortunately, I have tested this on a 2gen itouch using two non apple keyboards that worked with an ipad, but they did not "discover" although there was indication that a dialog had transpired.
Very disappointing... anyone know anything more about what the ios4 brings to the BT table and if the 2gen is even included?
fwiw, I _was_ able to pair BT stereo headsets to the 2gen under os3 but it appears that the upgrade to 4 may have disabled even that option.

on a crewneck that has abrayhiteMay 6, 03:00 PMHave any of you tried upgrading (for whatever reason, maybe coming from a 3GS) and been questioned about the unlimited plan? It's still some 14 months away for me but I was just curious what might transpire when I try upgrading and they see I got unlimited data even though I joined AT&T AFTER June.

bedifferentMar 14, 09:57 AMThere are others copies in System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/FinderKit.framework/Resources.
Yeah I noticed that too, it was almost an exact copy of the Finder.app/Resources folder. I modified that as well. Interesting that Lion seems to be using frameworks much more so than previous OS X incarnations.
HrududuMay 3, 11:40 AMI have acquired an iMac g4 700 with only a cd drive. I would like to install Tiger via a retail DVD. Can I place the DVD in another machine and install via FireWire?
Thx rob
Sure can. I've done it a few times. Just boot the iMac G4 in Target Disk Mode and then install the OS onto its drive from another PowerPC Mac with a DVD drive.

There is another one out there utilising an 800 MHz G3.
Unfortunately, I've never seen anything about graphics upgrades as this would take a whole lot more research and possibly a daughterboard and firmware upgrades to make it work.
No ice pleaseOct 31, 12:18 PMWhat I have on my laptop now. I'll get a picture of my DVD and VHS collection later.

CaptainChunkMay 5, 01:09 AMYes, everybody would like to know more, but what's another month? Besides, here's the thing:
1. FCP X is a complete rewrite. As such, we'll be dealing with what's essentially a 1.0 product. The professional post production community isn't going to jump to ship until FCP X reaches a reasonable level of maturity (and stability) they're already getting with FCP 7. And that will take a while to happen.
2. I think Apple knows this (above) and it's likely the reason they were pretty selective about what they revealed at NAB. I think they expect that FCP X will sell to enthusiasts first and will eventually make its way into professional workflows as the platform gains more acceptance and support from the third-parties. Workflow and stability are everything in a pro environment; this will always trump features. In the end, Apple's approach was better than over-promising on what they may not be able to deliver yet.
I've already decided that unless by some miracle FCP X can really replace my FCP 7 workflow straight out of the box in June (highly unlikely), I'm not buying it until it truly can, even if it's only $300. I'm sure the post houses feel the same way...
priceshirleyMar 4, 08:00 AMThe name is good! I like the idea of adding Umlauts. It will highlight the difference between 'Published & 'Pablshed. But you need to work more on logo. It can be improved. All the best!

TheMacBookProApr 28, 02:54 AMi have the windows cd but i have no idea how to repair it using the cd. can someone help me with the commands?
XP, Vista, 7?
If XP: Insert disc, hold alt/opt at startup then choose the Windows disc. Wait for the computer to load all the drivers etc. Then press the following keys in the following order: 'Enter', 'F8', then 'R'. Then follow the onscreen prompts. It'll look like Windows is reinstalling itself but it is actually just repairing the system. All your files and settings will be preserved.
Vista/7: Insert disc, hold alt/opt at startup then choose the Windows disc. Wait for the computer to load the Windows installer. Choose language/kb layout/etc then click Next. Don't click Install now, instead, select Repair your computer. Choose your Windows installation in the popup and click Next. Installer will search for problems and give you the option to repair you installation, if possible.
Cheers
