There are options for software update server, (im sure but might be wrong that there are some improvements on this for server and clients). theres the xgrid manager (haven't got it set-up)
Didn't notice NFS and believe it or not but am totally confused with the OD Service, I carnt find an option/setting for it but it has to be there.

cornfedgrowthNov 14, 11:26 AMThis is pretty sweet, and a good deal for apple, but i'd rather see airlines spend the money on putting standard outlets at each seat. Then i can charge my Macbook Pro, iPod, cellphone, camcorder or bring along a big firewire drive to get a start on my video editing with, ect. From the airlines point of view, i think it makes more sense to install something that most passengers would find useful instead of something that only Apple users find useful.

If this does happen tho, good for apple.

Also, Navigon and Tom-Tom will download all the maps you purchased with the app, so you have access to maps even when hiking or driving on a remote trail where there is no service available. Both Navigon and Tom-Tom are moving toward a model where if the map is wrong you can report that it is incorrect and they can fix it faster and provide updates.

Real-time maps means they are up-to-date, when you have network (similar to Google Maps).

I think Garmin failed on this one -- additionally the interface looks a bit cartoony.

Mapquest has a really nice google style that gives you turn by turn with voice for free.

They're getting rid of the light in lion. They don't want the average user worrying about "open" or "closed" apps. Just use and exit when done. The system will worry with open and closed. I like it that way.

Auto save, resume, saving state is the future of multitasking for all Apple products.

Actually there is an option to turn the indicator light on, in System Prefs. I think quitting, closing and opening apps is perfect the way it is.

OutThereMay 6, 12:23 PMI disagree with the luxury vs cheap car analogy. I built a core i7 that exceeds what apple provides and its much more "luxury" then a junker car. It looks great because the case I chose, it performs awesome and the cost was 1,500 less the comparable mac pro. I opted to turn the computer into a hackintosh because I do prefer OSX over windows.

You can throw a crate engine and a body kit on a Civic. It's still not a BMW, even if it's faster, more customizable and cheaper.
