Okay, go to the :apple: on the top left, about this mac, more info, and give us the model identifier.

That will tell us exactly which macbook pro you have, and we'll then be able to tell you for sure how much RAM it can take.

blevins321Apr 26, 09:34 AMQuick update. I've made some more progress. I thought I had not been able to get the phone into DFU mode. I tried it a few more times (the steps of how to get it into DFU mode) and finally its restoring. My phone is staying on with the Plug into iTunes screen. will update once it is done restoring and installing the firmware.

edit: blevins just to be safe I took the sim out and made sure it was seated properly. thank you for the reply

edit2: it says the iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unkown error occurred (1604)

If it's in DFU mode, there should be nothing on the screen. It's in recovery mode, not DFU. 1604 is a common problem when restoring in non-DFU mode.

Lord BlackadderApr 30, 05:07 PMI have stuck with Tiger in my G4s, so I can't speak to Leopard's performance.

You should install the maximum possible amount of RAM before doing anything else, but a HDD upgrade will definitely improve performance as well and should make the machine perfectly suitable for general internet browsing and basic image editing/light gaming work and so forth.

Bear in mind that these machines are only going to get older, and G4s can never handle HD video, so while they are perfectly servicable you will want to limit the amount of money you put into upgrades.

How to solve problems like this:
1. Open the class reference doc (UIApplication in this case).
2. Search for the expected method or property (mainWindow in this case).
3. If found, read the description carefully (some detail may differ from your expectation, such as - instead of +, or a different letter-case than you expected).
4. If not found, open the class reference doc for the superclass and go to step 2.
5. If not found in any class or superclass, then the reason for the message is simple: the class does not have the method or property you expected.

If you reach step #5, you'll have to modify your problem-solving procedure. You think it is method xyzzy, but it really might have method xyz, or zzy.


In your case, it's not clear what you're trying to do. You might mean the keyWindow property of the UIApplication instance, but if not, you'll have to explain exactly what you're trying to accomplish.

In general, it's always a good idea to describe exactly what you're trying to accomplish.
