fah -gpu 0 -forcegpu nvidia_g80 -advmethods -verbosity 9 -local

try that with what you did before and see if it works!

holy crap you're a genious :) it actually started computing now i think, though it errored out right away with an 'unstable machine' error. first time its gotten that far at least. here's the log




it was trying to use core_15 earlier which was probably the issue. i wasn't forcing it with g80. i'm still not sure from those linux instructions what all we need to do on os x with the wine dll wrapper and stuff though. maybe its not actually seeing the card who knows. thanks for the help:)

I hope Apple adds support this in a future Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update.

I own that model-and currently have to use Silkypix to work with the RAW files from the camera.

compuwarApr 27, 03:22 PMI tend to do lanscape or macro photography mainly rather than anything else.

You can use almost anything with a tripod for landscapes, and add in AutoPano Pro if you want to stitch. Macro is a different beast- insects or static subjects? The Tamron 90mm SP Di is a great choice as is the Nikon 105mm, consider the Sigma 150mm macro if you need the working distance.

imahawkiMay 4, 10:16 AMTo be quite honest, Time Machine leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to error reporting when something goes wrong. I feel your frustration because I had the same problem a few months ago. I've found that looking at the console helps to determine what error occurred and then searching Google to see what the error means, and how to fix it. I think you can find the console in the utilities folder somewhere - can't exactly remember where it is.

My problem with Time Machine was that my disk permissions were screwed up and so it wasn't copying the files nessessary to complete the back up - it would just quit. I would check to see if those were set correctly by going into info and reseting them. Might help.

I'm still having no luck. How do I reset the disk permissions. I can see that they are set right, but I assume you mean something else by re-setting?

I have tried every troubleshooting article I can find and basically if I unmount the drive and reboot, the first backup will always run but subsequent ones will always fail.
