DaglessFeb 6, 03:17 AMi bought myself an Logitech V500 a few months back to accompany my future Powerbook. apart from the wireless USB thing its perfect. but its sooo small and i think it has the highest DPI for any infrared mouse too, but dont quote me on that (and that was back in october).
ive had it since october, use it every single day for an hour approx and the battery is still in 'good' rating! i never knew wireless mice were so battery-friendly. man i bought 8 AAA batteries expecting it to eat through them but at this rate these will last me till a G5 PB ;)

logitech are very good with mice. kudos to them

oh and subl1me; its an amazing mouse, probably wouldnt use it for desktop PC/Mac use but for portables... yea... highly recommended.

I really don't get what all the design kudos are for it. It has a shiny front, and is pretty much a rectangle. I like SilverKeeper, the backup software that comes with it. Careful with what you choose to exclude during the backup.

That you would even consider a downgrade just because of a little fan noise is amazing to me. Not a good plan my friend.

In a general sense, hyper threading is useful when multiple threads of execution are similar enough to each other. This is obviously true enough when applications are designed to make use of hyper threading. It will not be useful when doing multiple different things (e.g. running a lot of different applications at once).

As for video RAM, go with 1GB... would be a good idea if you ever decide to plug in a second monitor to your machine.

SailorTomMar 15, 11:40 PMI suggest you re-factor your html. Move the aside below the section in the html. Float the section to the left with a specified width e.g 70%. The remove the clear from the aside and it should then slot into place with height maxed out.

I'd expect setting height: 100% would work with this method too, but it didn't for me in the little play I had.

Anyway it seems the main problem you have at the moment is that the section is limiting the height of the aside

SafariSpeed definitely did the trick! Thanks for your help. Why would they have incorporated a delay in page load on purpose?

I've tweaked Camino some so it works better, and since they seem pretty much the same except for some differences in appearance, I'll probably play around with them for a while and decide.

The Safarish theme suggested is still very buggy (e.g., the find bar is huge), so it looks like I'll be ditching Firefox and just picking up a RSS reader. By "TBE doesn't work properly" I mean that half of the options don't show up in preferences.
