Good suggestions, I suppose I got stumped for that (colour) as well. The full-colour version looked almost too saturated and and the purely black/white looked too plain. I kinda went with a cross between the two and it came out more sepia-ish.

B+W with red toe-nails?? I'm sure you could PS that without a re-shoot.

TwoJaxMar 25, 04:34 PMOkay, I'm no newbie but I am stumped on this. Just got a new iPad 1. It came loaded with 3.2.2 (blow out pricing at Verizon). From all my reading, I can't jb this firm version. So, I dl'd the iPad 1,1 4.2.1.ipsw file so I could utilize the Greenp0is0n app (which, I gather 'used to' work on 3.2.2 but now requires 4.2.1). I shift-click (PC) to install that and Apple won't let me (natch, cuz it isn't 4.3.1). Since this is new, with unbreakable current firmware, I have no shsh blobs I can reference saved. So, changing the hostfile won't help me as there is nothing a cydia I can retrieve.

Question, in short, what do I need to do to jb this? :confused:

Take two exclusive's to the 360 for example. Dead or Alive 4 - goregous graphics, very high detail and not much on screen at once. Dead Rising - realistically prev gen graphics, but done en-mass, using the consoles capabilities to produce hoards and hoards of zombies.

I think that makes sense anyway.

Things I like about SL:
+1 I gained back about 20 gig on a 160 gig drive.
+1 App store. Yes I like the app store and the only thing I have mixed feelings about is it wants to put everything I buy in the dock. That's not gonna last long.
+1 $29. It's been a long time since I got a new OS for only $29. No wait. Never. This is the first time I've got a new OS this cheap without going through some OEM or student status ritual.
+1 Dock. I like the tweaks SL brought to the way the dock works.

Things I don't like about SL:
-1 Less stable than Leopard but the biggest culprits I found for making my machine lose its mind were: Firefox 3.x, Eyefi center (previous version), Handbrake (previous version). On the latest versions of these programs I rarely see that dastardly beach ball.
-1 More about stability. I seem to get more "quit unexpectedly" issues under SL than I used to see under Leopard.
-1 Speed. I find SL to be efficient compared to Windows but it seems to be slightly slower than Leopard on the same hardware.

As for iWork, iTunes and Steam having issues, I haven't used Steam but I do find iTunes to be less than stable no matter what OS you use it on. iWork, OTOH has been rock solid for me. I also use LibreOffice and my wife uses MS Office 2011 all of which are stable on SL.

I am not 100% sure but I think they make their own, Samsung is actually a brand that makes lots of things that are put inside other people's products, e.g. the memory for the iPod nano.

I have 2 maxtor drives, one western digital and one samsung, the samsung is the only one that didn't get noiser with time, it is 20Gb and at least 5 years old, it looks identical externaly to the need ones, I guess the new ones should have improvements to make then even quiter and more reliable (i'm guessing).

I have a 1080p TV, 46" and plan to use it as a computer to show people how to use iPhoto and iMovie and such. I had my MacBook Air hooked up, and it worked fine as a second monitor but there was minor lag at times. When the Air was hooked up to my Apple 24" LED there is no lag at all so I was wondering if the screen size has anything to do with it.

Does the Mini handle this situation well? I am currently waiting for the refresh, but wanted some opinions in case this has been an issue or not.

And the way I see it, you should suggest the best song or two off an album, and if you want the whole album suggested, do that in the comments section of the first track you recommend. That way it's like a lead-in for people who like similar music and want to know more about this particular band.

I've been trying to remember to go back, but sometime I forget... :) I'll try and make a sweep over them again before too long. :D



rozwellNov 22, 03:16 PMi have to ask... what is with the drop shadow? huge, obvious drop shadows are NOT good unless you are animating 3d objects or doing motion graphics... the big drop shadow is running rampant around the web attacking sites left and right... i say we start here and rise against the drop shadow.

beyond that, like other users said, your tech side is fine. as for visuals, others have pointed out the color issues.

as a general rule, to see what other designers are doing, check out design portals such as news today, design is kinky or k10k. there are tons out there and they show the best of the best digital artists.
