Yesterday, discount department store chain T.J. Maxx and its sister chain Marshalls made headlines (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/11/18/t-j-maxx-offering-16-gb-wi-fi-ipads-for-399/) with their offer of 16 GB Wi-Fi iPads for $399.99, a $100 discount from Apple's regular prices.

"Why would you let TJ Maxx of all places undercut the iPad prices by $100?"
That question is so stupid! It sounds like he does not want cheaper iPads, and no competition!? One could think, that this happens in North Korea or Cuba, but no, it happens in the U.S.A.! People want a dictator!
Just imagine that everyone screams "I want a more expensive iPad! Please Steve Jobs give it to me!". It does not look like it would happen.

GjunkieOct 5, 08:25 PMIm sorry, but wasn't tabbed browsing covered when Steve debuted Leaopard? and I saw the improved find feature in Safari 3 like almost 2 months ago... the only "new" feature that I see is the resizeable text fields....
I love safari and everything, but this isn't news.... why is everyone making such a big deal over this??
It's like as if I said, "Hey everyone! check this out! Tiger has an awesome NEW feature called WIDGETS!"

JATApr 29, 12:42 PMI will say something about SPRINT. First off, that article is WRONG!
Baltimore, Maryland is the 1st SPRINT test market for 4G, but it's not even mentioned in that article! I know so because SPRINT is actively advertising it and it's been in other press reports. So how many other test markets did they miss in their alleged comparison of 4G vs. 3G I wonder?
Um, all of them, I guess. That test was carried out locally, since the local city, at that time, provided "4G" from the 3 tested providers. I'm not sure why that would be a problem for you. The only issue I have with it is that Tmob is not tested to cover all 4 national providers, perhaps that wasn't up and running in Detroit at the time. Maybe you'll like this?: http://www.rootmetrics.com/pr/reports/2011/20110320_Seattle_4G_Study.pdf
So, what magical speed does Sprint offer in Baltimore? Considering that they only claim maximum 6Mbps speed for their "4G" network, and that was achieved in the test, you shouldn't have any problem with it.
"4G" is the problem. As marketed:
Sprint (http://shop2.sprint.com/en/shop/why_sprint/4g/evo_plan_details.html): up to 6Mbps
AT&T (http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-center/main.jsp?t=solutionTab&ft=&ps=solutionPanels&locale=en_US&_dyncharset=UTF-8&solutionId=KB115947): up to 6Mbps
Tmob (http://t-mobile-coverage.t-mobile.com/4g-wireless-technology): up to 21Mbps (however, I never see test reports breaking 8Mbps)
VZW (http://network4g.verizonwireless.com/#/whatis4g): up to 12Mbps (but test reports show higher speeds)
Do you see anything amiss in the use of the same word for all that?
mkzamoraMar 11, 09:58 AMWill be stopping by on my lunch to check out the situation, I'll post a pic of the line if there is one.

Crager724Oct 5, 05:40 PMI am not a webdesigner so could someone explain the TEXTAREA upgrade? It sounded like a good idea when I read it, but it seems to have struck a nerve with a couple people, and I'm not sure why. I'm guessing it would be like if I went to an art auction and bought a painting by Monet, I bring the painting home and realize that the wallspace I have for it isn't wide enough, so I grab a corner of the painting a pull it down, hence making it skinnier and fitting my wall? Nobody would ever consider doing that to a Monet, yet isn't this what the new TEXTAREA feature does?
