Angel Wine Tower

The first wine tower in Europe, the Angels Wine Tower Bar, offers a thrilling and delicious complement to any dining experience with more than 4.000 bottles of wine in a soaring glass case. It offers a unique entertainment for customers at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Stansted Airport, London, which also hosts live bar angels, as they are known, who fly the air to retrieve ordered bottles.

When someone places an order for a bottle that is not within reaching distance one of the restaurant staff is hoisted into the air to gather the selected bottle. So the visitor is not only given the wanted bottle, but also receives free entertainment.

Diet (light) drinks are dangerous

A recent research from the University of Miami found that people who drink diet (light) drinks have a bigger chance of suffering from a heart attack or a stroke.

Specifically the research results stated that people who drink these drinks on a regular basis have a 61% greater chance of suffering from a heart attack or a stroke than those who do not. Countless statements have been written and have been tested concerning various drinks, especially the fizzy light ones. It is probably wise to stop buying and stop drinking them, in order to lead a healthier life.

Energy Drinks are dangerous

Energy Drinks are considered very dangerous, especially for children and teenagers, as studies in Florida showed. These drinks have a lot of caffeine, sugar and supplements for example vitamins and herbal essences. Paediatrician in the USA have indicated that young people who consumed these energy drinks had seizures, hallucinations, heart problems  and even kidney and liver damage.

Since the energy drinks are characterised as dietary supplements they go through less scrutiny and restrictions than food and medicine. Although manufacturers claim that their products enhance both mental and physical performance, researchers from Florida, who reviewed the statistics on this issue, consider the statements of the companies (which support the beneficial properties of their products) as questionable.

Meat flavour water

Is this the first step towards the food-pill which we all have seen in futuristic films? Till Krautkraemer is the inventor of the Meat Water, a fluid which could take our foods' place, since it has various tastes including chicken, meat, fish. The funny thing is that you even have a variety of kitchens when it comes down to buying a bottle, ranging from Indian to American.

I'm not sure if this will work and if we will abolish food in order to live of this water...but it would be an experience to try one.

The most expensive coffee

Coffee is a drink most of us love. Living in Greece for four years I had too much coffee. But it never occurred to me to try the most expensive one in the world..and all I can say is thank God I didn't. Kopi Iuwak is considered the most expensive coffee.
It is made from a specific variety of red beans but it is vital it goes through the digestive system of the Asian Palm Civet to give it the flavour people pay hundreds of pounds for.

The berries grow in the Philippines and Indonesia and are eaten by the civet who like them for their flesh. The problem is that they cannot digest the core bean which eventually comes out as poop.

These droppings are gathered, thoroughly washed, dried in the sun, roasted and then brewed which yield an aromatic coffee. After being in the civet's digestive system it picks up a unique flavour, giving it a caramel and chocolate like flavour.
It would be interesting to taste this but it will not be on my list of things to try for a while...
