D'IllusionJan 16, 09:36 AMIn the UK where customers of the like of O2 (me) have more chance of getting a w##k off the Pope than a decent data signal without resorting to standing up a ladder and waving their phone in the air, this is a definate no win app.
Depends. If you're a little choir boy then you might arouse the Pope's interest.
danielbriggsNov 21, 04:52 PMThis is not really new technology.
This is a very common device what is new is that someone is marketing it to Apple.
I agree... But sounds nice, but I just don't think it will pay off. Keep a fan spinning 10 mins longer may set you back around £5-10. + add's size an weight.
Nice idea, not practical
applesupergeekJul 13, 07:25 AMSo can I put one of these new SDXC cards in the back and use that as my boot drive while maintaining the internal HD for data storage?
Would that be better than an SSD?
No it wouldn't be better than an ssd, on the contrary it would worse than an HD, sd cards are not optimized for the many small writes that an os performs, nor do they lend themselves well to ntfs or hfs+, and that's why ssd drives that include flash have such convoluted contollers and cost that much more than sd cards, because of the development that goes into them.

There, if you are waiting for it from FoW!
gnasher729Mar 25, 10:35 AMSamsung and LG already settled with Kodak.
Kodak's (NYSE:EK) market cap is < $1B.
Why doesn't Apple just buy them and continue the suit against RIM?
Probably because Apple's lawyers and engineers have looked at the patent, decided there is little risk for Apple having to pay up, and Apple has no intention spending money to buy ailing companies, and Apple has no intention of suing RIM with patents that RIM is most likely not infringing on either.
And of course it would open up Apple to an avalanche of lawsuits from companies that are not doing too well, have some patent that is vaguely related to some Apple product, and would sue Apple in the hope of being bought out.

Maybe this should be a new feature for the folding widget: to look when you will be overtaken by someone or when you overtake someone.
Actually, I should be able to do it, you would have to choose your targets yourself though. I will not be able to provide you with the closest threats and/or overtakes, but if you know who you want to track, it's not that hard to show/calculate.
I'll first clean up the code, add detailed stats, Then i'll redesign the layout and incorporate the threats/overtakes (this might take a while - busy period @ work).
Now if someone would post this widget in this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=128541) thread i'd be a happy man. I would do it myself, in fact i almost did...
Come to think of it, asking is the same as posting it myself but... bah.. lol prrt <over and out> sry

iJohnHenryApr 4, 05:22 PMNo. A car that gets 50mpg is likely much lighter than a car that gets 8mpgs... and hence doesn't put near as much wear on the road
Consider, if all cars were the size of a Smart ForTwo, or the awaited ForFour, a two lane road could become 3 lanes. ;)
Trucks and Hummers would just drive down the middle. :D

vancleefApr 15, 02:15 PMAgreed we are spoiled. Unfortunately the U.S. has a horrible infrastructure as far as public transportation and such so many people live far from their jobs and have to drive everywhere.
I remember in New Zealand paying $4 something per liter
Here where I live at the Sheetz gas stations its $3.75.
Yes and that is the discussion here in Sweden. As you might know we have a big chunk of our population out in the woods far from any larger cities and these areas are slowly dying in favor of urbanisation. And without any communion service worth mentioning these people suffer from the high gas prices as you might guess.
Either way, didn't mean to offend anyone mattcube64 :)
big sammJan 18, 03:37 PMStill no push, it can't be that hard can it? The small devs get push working on their apps no problem..
Most of the small devs charge us for push notification... Im pretty sure 7iphones out of 10 have facebook installed... Can you imagine pushing notification on all these devices? Plus its free so i can imagine how the server can easely be overloaded
noahrobdMar 30, 02:50 PMHere's my take. Jobs/Apple has some dirt on Google or Eric. Is black mailing to use it if Google doesn't do what they want. But Google won't help Apple if they leak the dirt. Job's says... "They're (public or press) is going to see it all eventually (meaning the truth is going to come out eventually) so who cares how they get (i.e. how they find out.)
PeterQVenkmanFeb 26, 01:25 PMThe blight of liberalism. How about we talk about how time and time again, it's utterly failed to do anything but grow an already bloated government, destroy liberty, personal property, and worsen an economy that used to be second-to-none?
You are unwise to choose a side in a fight where neither parties give a rat's ass about you. It's not liberalism or conservatism that has failed to do anything. It's both. Our government is at a standstill.
But I know they need their vacation time. And of course, they need their pensions even if they only serve one term. It's a lot of hard work accomplishing nothing and we owe them so much.
