These pictures would be unimaginable in the modern world, especially when having in mind Health and Safety which prevails in the UK. It is interesting to see that although they did not have the same safety precautions we now have, they still built skyscrapers.
Then the only requirement for employment was good physical condition and no fear of heights. The preconditions for the same job would be totally different today...
