The Hastings Fishermen's Museum is one of the town's most popular tourist attractions, receiving more than 140.000 visitors.
It is located within the Church of St. Nicholas, built on the Stade in 1852 which fell out of use after WW II. In 1956 local people concerned about preserving the maritime history of Hastings took over the old Fishermen's Church.
The main attraction is the Enterprise, built at Hastings in 1912 and only being laid up in 1954.
All around it the visitor can easily identify countless models, photos, paintings, nets, ropes and a wide variety of other fishing artefacts.
Although not being currently a church, it is still used for christenings and baptisms.
