As a consequence, Amazon has scrapped plans to build a distribution center in Columbia that would have employed about 1300 people (http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2011/apr/30/amazon-pullout-has-chilling-effect/). Furthermore, another company has abandoned plans to locate in the area and a homebuilder has scrapped plans to build 100 new houses because of the Amazon pullout.

This is so typical of the shortsightedness of the Democrat/Socialists who run this state. They are costing the SC citizens jobs by not supporting the companies that want to locate here and....

Republicans control the South Carolina government? There are no Democrats at all elected to statewide office?

But...but...but...now I'm utterly confused.

In all seriousness, how bad must our state economy be for the Republican-controlled legislature to refuse tax breaks? I actually really applaud the Republicans on this one. On one hand, it would have resulted in substantial employment - well above 2,000 total. On the other hand, it would have come as the cost of a lot of potential tax revenue. And we'd need that tax revenue to support the additional infrastructure required to sustain these jobs.

If a user consistently breaks a rule and ignores warnings then the moderators look at the seriousness of the rule and the violations, the individual circumstances, the user's overall history, and any communications from the user to decide if they think the user can be convinced to observe the rules using further discipline, typically a temporary forum suspension. If the bad habits still don't change then a permanent ban is eventually called for. This path of escalation is necessarily faster for serious problems but is intended to give users a chance to comply as well as to understand what's expected of them under the rules.

This is just a developer preview. After this there will (probably) be betas. And after that there will eventually be a golden master or two.

Right. Adobe and other big software manufacturers need at least > 6 months to optimize their software (much more than just InDesign and Photoshop) for the new OS. Apple probably wants to optimize Lion for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Bridge#Ivy_Bridge) (via Intels Mac OS X compilers (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-software-development-products-for-mac-os-x/), not just via the GCC), which means that we will see Lion GM/RTM in January/February 2012 and Lion final in March/April 2012. This would make more sense, because it reduces additional development costs for Apple, after Ivy Bridge comes out.

i think iTunes wants to burn an MP3 CD if longer than standard audio, but since you encoded in AAC you have to convert the tracks to MP3 first, then burn to MP3 CD.

Select MP3 encoding under prefs first, then select tracks and under Advanced menu, select "Convert Selection to MP3"

In all seriousness though, I could see myself buying something a bit similar to this if it were dirt cheap and had the option of a kind of blackout cloth around it. Not for what you might imagine although I would use it in bed. The girlfriend goes to bed hours before I do. I often stay up much later or I might listen to an audiobook and sometimes I like to watch tv shows. It'd be nicer being able to do that in the bedroom. She hates any form of lights in the bedroom so it would need to be able to black out the rest of the world. I don't care how stupid I look if its in the dark after all.
